Analyze transmission, substation and related electrical project work and coordinate the addition of new equipment to the system. Submit outage requests for planned project work in support of the project management department. Create electrical zones of protection for field personnel to work within, satisfying all safety tagging procedures. Work with Client Operational Control Center (OCC), Transmission Systems Operations Center (TSO) and project managers to resolve conflicts between outage requests and system operating constraints. Responsible for optimizing the practices, policies, procedures and programs to operate the electric transmission, sub- transmission and distribution systems in a safe, reliable and efficient manner with the welfare of employees, customers, the public and shareholders in mind.
Responsibilities
1. Collect and analyze system data to determine the feasibility of switching requests for transmission, substation and distribution equipment
2. Work with project managers to determine required zones of protection and outage sequencing to execute planned project work.
3. Review and follow the progression of project work on the transmission, sub transmission and distribution system.
4. Support the project manager in work bundling activities to minimize the impact to the system.
5. Work with the OCC, TSO and project managers to resolve conflicts between outage requests and system operating constraints
